Friday night hoops report

Hello bloggers.
The boys basketball season is in the home stretch and Friday night was filled with many close games for area teams.
I was at the Utica/GPN game. The Chieftains had the MAC White Division leaders on the ropes, before two free throws by the Norsemens' Bryan Brown with six seconds to play gave GPN a 53-51 win.
Utica is still showing its youth this season, making several pivotal mistakes down the stretch, which cost the Chieftains at the end.
Utica was paced by Connor Hinebaugh with 13 points and eight rebounds.
Source Associate Editor Don Chamberlain covered the Eisenhower/LCN game, which was won by the Crusaders 47-44. The two teams entered the night tied for first place in the MAC Red Division.
In other games, Stevenson fell to host Cousino 55-53 in a MAC White Division game, while FOrd II defeated visiting L'Anse Creuse 44-37 in a MAC Red contest. Sterling Heights rallied for a 19-8 fourth-quarter spurt to defeat visiting Lincoln 43-38 in a MAC Gold Division match-up. Finally, it was Parkway Christian breaking Inter-City Baptist's six-game winning streak with a 47-44 triumph.

In other sports news, we should know this weekend if Johnny Damon is going to become a member of the Detroit Tigers. If money is the determining factor, Damon will be a Tiger since they're offering the most money by all reports. Do you like this? Give me your thoughts.
Finally, has anyone been watching the Winter Olympics in Vancouver this week. The Olympics always seem to spark my interest to the point where I stay up to the early morning hours watching the competitions. Let me know who you have been surprised with and if you're enjoying or are you disappointed at what's transpired there so far.

Hopefully we'll have some good stuff to chat about this week. Can't wait to hear from all of you and have a great weekend.
